The first flower of the year
Snowdrops flower first, in January, when the rest of the garden is still bare. With The first flower of the year we bring that moment to people who have never planted a bulb. One box, composed by you from our collection, with a planting card included. Planting takes a minute.
What the project is
- 01You compose your own box from the snowdrops in our collection.
- 02Every bulb comes from the National Plant Collection Galanthus, which we curate.
- 03Grown on a small scale in our own greenhouse, without pesticides and without artificial fertiliser.
- 04For every order we plant an extra bulb in public space.
What this means for this shop
Nothing changes. The nursery shop remains the place for the full collection, variety by variety, for those who choose and collect themselves. The project is for those who want just one, in a box, ready to give, without any planting knowledge. Same greenhouse, same bulbs, same hands.

Choose the varieties you want. Everything arrives in one box, with one planting card.

Delivery from late summer
As soon as the bulb is dormant it goes in the post. You plant it yourself, which takes a minute.

Flowering around January
The exact moment is up to the flower, depending on the weather.

About this announcement
Kwekerij Sela curates the National Plant Collection Galanthus. Every bulb that goes into the box comes from that collection.
The first edition is assembled by hand. We choose quality over volume.

Are they the same bulbs?
Yes. They come from the same greenhouse and the same stock as everything you order here.
Can I order those varieties here as well?
Yes. Every variety from the box is available separately in our shop, without the box and without the planting card.
When is delivery?
From late summer, as soon as the bulb is dormant. Flowering follows around January, with the exact moment up to the flower.
What does the giving back mean?
For every order we plant an extra bulb in public space: verges, schoolyards, neighbourhood greenery. Visible, every spring again.
