New Holder of the Dutch National Snowdrop Collection

We proudly announce a major milestone in the history of the Dutch National Snowdrop Collection. Annie Fallinger, who has fulfilled the holdership with great dedication for years, transfers this special responsibility to Rosalie van der Maas.

Rosalie van der Maas brings a great passion for snowdrops and will continue the tradition of careful cultivation and preservation of these special plants. Together with the team of Kwekerij Sela, she will ensure that this unique collection remains accessible to enthusiasts and researchers.

We thank Annie Fallinger for her years of dedication and look forward with enthusiasm to the future under the leadership of Rosalie van der Maas.

In the context of this transfer, Kwekerij Sela has been enriched with no less than 113 new cultivars of snowdrops. This means a huge expansion of our collection.

Expert Tips: Growing Snowdrops in Your Garden

Do you want to successfully grow snowdrops? The secret lies in preparation. As a specialized nursery, we recommend starting with airy, humus-rich soil. Snowdrops (Galanthus) thrive best in a semi-shaded spot.

The timing of planting is crucial. Plant the bulbs 'in the green' (immediately after flowering) for the best results. Ensure the soil doesn't dry out, but avoid excessive moisture. Follow our website for updates, because as soon as our new location opens, you can visit our nursery for personal advice and unique varieties.

Our Golden Tip

Leave the plants alone after flowering and let the foliage die back naturally. This gives the bulb strength for the next year.
